Bizzy Bee Family Childcare Centre stands in its own grounds overlooking fields and views of Rother Valley Country Park.
The building was purpose built in 2004 and is well tucked away from busy roads. We are in walking distance of Beighton Nursery and Infant School and offer a take and collect service to and from the school for parents who opt for our shared care service. This facility is available for children attending the school or school nursery. You can use this service until the end of your child’s reception year.
The Nursery is situated behind houses on School Road and there is parent access via a public footpath.
Security is paramount at our Nursery. We have 24 hour CCTV in operation as well as an intercom entry system. We also have a password identity checking system in place for non-regular collectors.
The Nursery has three childcare rooms which have been specially designed for each age range of children. All rooms offer a wide range of age and stage appropriate, stimulating activities that are aimed to educate through play and help children develop skills that are set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Each nursery room opens out onto our spacious, highly secure garden, where children can enjoy the freshness of outdoors on a daily basis. Playing in the garden is always encouraged and we provide plenty of equipment to help support children’s learning.
We have recently been presented with the Charter for Quality Award for our provision. To obtain this award we had to demonstrate that we provide quality childcare that meets the standards of the inspection. This includes meeting the needs of the children, ensuring policies meet current legislation and providing support to families who use our service.
We value and respect the diversity of individuals and communities. All children have the right to learn in a considerate and caring environment where staff and children are valued for their contribution to nursery life. We are committed to working closely with families whom we aim to keep fully involved in all decisions that affect children’s education and care. We aim to work in full partnership with both you and off site professionals. We recognise the expertise and skills that all parties bring and aim to put this into practise to enable the child to reach his/her full potential.
Bizzy Bees has a regard to the DFES code of practice on Special Educational Needs and we provide a broad and balanced curriculum that is accessible and inclusive to all children recognising individual needs and working in close partnership with parents/carers and outside agencies. We are committed to the early identification of children with Special Educational Needs and to adopting clear and open procedures. Further details are available in our Special Needs Policy. We offer the Early Support service outlined in our Special Educational Needs policy.

Our nursery has obtained the Millie's Mark Award for our commitment to safeguarding children. This is an award that few nurseries in Sheffield have obtained. Paediatric first aid is updated regularly as well as in house training to ensure that both safeguarding and first aid procedures remain as second nature to our staff team. In addition, we demonstrate how we safeguard children on a daily basis by using checklists to ensure that the environment is safe for children, risk assessments before children are taken on outings around the village and high staff ratio levels that ensure that children are well supervised at all times.
As part of gaining this award all our staff are first aid trained and their training is updated regularly years.
Our nursery has also obtained the Start Well award for our commitment to promoting a healthy environment for our children and families.
