Our Trustees

Philip Andrew (Chair)

As the proud father of two daughters who have attended the nursery full time from the baby room upwards, I was keen to be involved with the direction and service of the nursery and became a trustee in 2020. I work as the managing director of a small but long-established online retail company, which over the years has led me to develop a wide range of skills relating to running a business and I feel this in turn gives me the knowledge to provide beneficial input to Bizzy Bees as an operational childcare charity.

Knowing how crucial experience and interaction is for a child's personal and social development, I have seen first-hand that the childcare provided by Bizzy Bees as a whole is excellent and the nursery is a real asset to the families in our community, long may it continue!

Stacey Thomas (Secretary)

I'm Stacey, I became a Trustee in 2018 and have two daughters who have attended Bizzy Bees from being 6 month old. They have both loved being at Bizzy Bees and it is fantastic to see them develop and grow with the care and support that the team have given them. I became a Trustee so that I could in turn support the nursery to carry on doing what they do best, and provide outstanding care for all the children who attend Bizzy Bees.

Charlotte Lax

Hi, I'm Charlotte and I became a trustee in 2018.I'm a primary school teacher and SENDCO at a Rotherham school. I've got one daughter who has been attending Bizzy Bees since she was 9 months old and my two nieces attended Bizzy Bees when they were younger. All three girls have had such a positive experience at Bizzy Bees that I wanted to become a trustee to support the nursery in the best way I can.

Carly Sweet

‘After 10years working in childcare, choosing a nursery for my little one was difficult until I found Bizzy Bees. From the warmth and love the staff provide the children, and the values and commitments they give to families to support the children's development, I knew I wanted to be a part of the team and become a Trustee.

Its a pleasure to help support the nursery to continue to Blossom.’

Catherine & Philip Stevens

We are Catherine and Philip Stevens “When we were asked whether we wanted to become a trustee of Bizzy Bees nursery, we didn’t hesitate in saying yes. We have both been been impressed with the care given to my little one in the baby room & just how easy it was to talk to the staff if I had any worries.
Since becoming a trustee we have appreciated just how dedicated and hard working the staff are & as someone who works professionally, we have also appreciated their professionalism “

I have two daughters, the oldest has been at Bizzy Bees since she was 9 months old and she absolutely loves it - it’s been amazing to see how much she’s developed since going to the nursery.  I became a trustee to support the nursery in the best way I can.

Laura Lambert

I am Laura and became a trustee in 2021. My eldest child attended Bizzy Bees from 9 months to 4 years old. They enjoyed attending and were really supported with their early education. This led to me deciding to become a trustee to support the nursery. My youngest child now attends too.

Rachel Clemitshaw

I'm Rachel and I have got a daughter currently in the 2-3 room. I'm a teacher at Brook House Juniors and I have been a trustee since October 2021. I joined the trustees as I wanted to support the Bizzy Bees team in continuing to provide the amazing care that they do for so many children.

My daughter has had such a fantastic experience attending Bizzy Bees so far and I look forward to becoming more involved with the lovely staff at the nursery through my role as a trustee.

Sarah Worne

My Name is Sarah. My two boys attend Bizzy Bees. I decided to join the team of Trustees because I wanted to be more involved in how the centre runs. This unique charity listed nursery is a great asset to our local community which is why I have chosen to become more involved  in the day to day running of it.

Would you like to have a say in how Bizzy Bees operates?

Bizzy Bees is a non-profit making, charitable organisation that is governed by a Board of Trustees. The nursery is not owned by anyone and any profits made must be used to help improve the running of the Nursery in some way. The Trustees are usually made up of Parents and Grandparents of children attending the Nursery. However you can become a Trustee if you simply feel that you have an interest in Bizzy Bees and how the Nursery operates, regardless of whether your child attends. So if you are not interested in becoming a Trustee but know someone who might be, please ask them to contact the Nursery.

The role of a Trustee involves attending evening meetings at the Centre approximately once every 6 weeks. However, you do not need to attend every meeting as long as there are enough Trustees at each meeting (4 minimum) to be able to vote on issues raised. The Trustees discuss all aspects of the running of the Nursery from wage increases to fees charged and from fundraising to customer care.
The Trustees vote together on issues raised, therefore no one is expected to make a decision alone. If you think that you may be interested in becoming a Trustee, please speak to either Lisa Burgin or Linda Stoney in the manager’s office or call the nursery between 7.30am and 6.30pm.
